I Traded My Laser Engraver for a Wooden Masterpiece
In this video, I traded my Creality 22W laser engraver for something ...
In this video, I traded my Creality 22W laser engraver for something truly special: a handmade wooden cutting board from Baron Rouge Woodwork, the workshop of Robert van Ittersum.
Robert doesn’t ...just make cutting boards. he creates wooden masterpieces.
I drove to Robert’s place with the laser engraver, helped him set up and calibrate the machine, and we tested it right away by engraving his own name into the cutting board he made for me.
This is not just a trade, it's a meeting of passions: laser meets craftsmanship, and tech meets tradition.

▼ Giving myself a challenge | 3D scanning with Creality Raptor Pro ▼

Earlier this week, I received the Creality Scan Raptor Pro — a powerful 3D scanner with impressive capabilities. I was lucky enough to win this scanner through a Facebook contest ...hosted by Creality, and I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity. I’d love to share my first experience with the Raptor Pro, especially for anyone who’s new to 3D scanning or curious about this device.
This is my first time using the Raptor Pro, but not my first time with 3D scanning. I’ve worked with high-end professional scanners at my job, and I also own a more basic model, the Scan Ferret (that has been showed on this channel many times).
My first goal was simple: get to know the Raptor Pro. I started by scanning a few random objects using the CrealityScan 3.3.40 software. Around the same time, I heard about a new beta version of the software: CrealityScan 4.0.0.
To give myself a real challenge, I decided to design an adapter for my jigsaw, so it could cut straight along a rail. I removed the baseplate from the jigsaw and clamped it in place, so I could scan it from different angles. Since I couldn’t capture everything in one go, I ended up scanning it in four separate steps.
I did all four scans using CrealityScan 4.0.0, and I immediately noticed that it worked faster than version 3.3.40. At first glance, the scan results looked rough — like the point cloud was made of large, blocky shapes. But that turned out to be misleading. The final scans were sharp, detailed, and surprisingly accurate.
I converted the scan to an OBJ file, simplified it in MeshLab, and then brought it into Fusion. From there, I designed a custom adapter around the scan. I added a slider that fits perfectly on the guide rail, and just like that — the adapter was done. Printed it, tested it, and it worked!
Thank you, Creality team, for this amazing gift. I’ll definitely be sharing more projects here on my YouTube channel, showing how I use the Raptor Pro to scan and build real-world solutions with Fusion.
