The TwoTrees TR2 Rotary ...Roller is not only a roller for engraving round objects, like mugs or flasks, but it has all the tools for you to also engrave on rings, balls, long objects like pipes or bottles, objects that are not round, and not useable on normal rotary rollers, etc.

This Rotary Roller is by far the most versatile tool I have ever seen for my laser engraver, and you can use it not only on TwoTrees lasers, but also on any other laser engraver that uses a stepper motor for the Y axis (as far as I know, all of them). Making 3D objects as a gift or as a functional part for yourself ...is not only reserved for 3D printers but can also be done with laser cutting machines, such as the Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro, which I use in this video.
With the right software, you can easily make the different layers, which you later glue together, so that you get a 3D object. So it's a matter of thinking in layers to create such an object.

After I made my review about the Aufero Laser 2, I was contacted and told that the Aufero Laser 2 can run much faster than 5000mm per minute. In fact, it can even run faster than the advertised 10.000mm per minute. In this video I show you the Aufero Laser 2 running at 15.000mm/MIN without any problem

Full disclaimer, I received this laser for a review and I am allowed to keep the machine for comparison with other machines. Ortur did not pay me for this review, and everything I say is my own opinion.

On January 12, 2022, Ortur will launch its new Aufero Laser 2, a laser engraving machine with a large work surface and a choice of 3 different laser modules, tailored to the wishes of the user. There will be a model for people who like to make engravings, such as photos in wood or leather, a version for people who like to cut things out of wood, cardboard or acrylic, and a version that is somewhere in between. I looked at that version, the 5.5Watt Short Throw laser, in this review.

The first thing you notice when you buy the laser is that it is very well packaged and that the machine can really be put together in a few minutes. You do not need any special knowledge about assembling CNC machines to assemble this engraving machine. Once the Aufero Laser 2 is assembled, you can connect it to your computer and start your software. I myself use Lightburn, which is paid software, but you can also work with LaserGRBL, which is a free variant.

Once started, it is clear that this laser engraving machine delivers excellent results. Whether engraving wood, cutting wood or engraving leather, the laser has no problem with it and just does what it's supposed to do.

The used Diode laser modules are of the same type as the 24 volt modules used in the Aufero Laser 1, and the Ortur Laser Master II machines, and are therefore perfectly interchangeable. The Aufero Laser 2 may not be as fast at 5000mm per minute as the Ortur Laser Master 2 Pro, but when it comes to quality, this machine is not inferior to its much more expensive brother. When it comes to the pure price versus quality ratio, the Aufero Laser 2 easily beats its big brother.

The TwoTrees TR2 Rotary ...Roller is not only a roller for engraving round objects, like mugs or flasks, but it has all the tools for you to also engrave on rings, balls, long objects like pipes or bottles, objects that are not round, and not useable on normal rotary rollers, etc.

If you want to engrave objects with a laser engraver and those objects ...

If you want to engrave objects with a laser engraver and those objects are not completely flat on the bottom, you may have problems leveling your laser with respect to ...your object because it cannot lie flat on the table below your laser.
A handy way to easily level your object with respect to your laser is to push the object into sand, rice or cat litter so that the unevenness of the object is negated.
You can easily make a sandbox yourself, or you can use a baking tin for the oven that you fill with sand or another material of your choice.

In this video, I show you how to choose the right laser module when you buy an Ortur Aufero Laser 1.
There are 3 different modules to choose from, such as the 1.6 Watt module for engraving wood and cardboard, the 5.5 Watt module for engraving stainless steel, stone, and other hard materials, and the 5.5 Watt version for cutting wood in different thicknesses. This last module is also equipped with an Air Assist nozzle for people who have a compressor and can connect it to their laser machine.

The TwoTrees TR2 Rotary ...Roller is not only a roller for engraving round objects, like mugs or flasks, but it has all the tools for you to also engrave on rings, balls, long objects like pipes or bottles, objects that are not round, and not useable on normal rotary rollers, etc.

The Beelink BT3 Pro computer comes with Windows 10 Home edition and is very suitable as a host from which you can operate laser ...engravers, such as the NeJe Master or the Ortur Laser Master.

The reason that I bought the computer is that I no longer wanted the lasers to be in my house because they cause a considerable odor and because the odor coming from the lasers is toxic. My shed is much better ventilated and moreover, I am not there all day, so that is a much better place to put my laser machines, but also my resin printers.

I often use my computer not only to control the machines but also to record my screen with OBS software. The Beelink BT3 Pro computer is perfectly capable of doing this at the same time, without delaying one of the programs. The internal SSD is a bit small, but I don't mind because I use network storage that I can access with this computer. This way I can also prepare files on another computer that is in my office, and then use these files on my laser machines and printers.

One of the biggest dangers when working with a laser cutter or laser engraving machine is the release of chlorine gas when laser-cutting the plastic. The chlorine gas is in ...plastics such as PVC and it is often difficult to see whether or not a material contains chlorine.

In addition to the health hazard associated with the release of chlorine gas, there is also a danger to the equipment that you expose to it. The gas is so acidic that it can easily demolish your laser lens and other components, and that within a few minutes.

Many years ago a simple test was developed that you can easily carry out yourself, with which you can test whether a material contains chlorine compounds or not. By performing this Beilstein test, you will find out whether or not chlorine gas will be released during laser engraving. I recommend anyone with a laser machine to perform this test when using a new material.

Do you have an Ortur Laser Master and have ...you found that when you try to have the laser cut the same object several times in a row in LaserGRBL, the software gets into an error and the laser stops? Then it is smart to watch this video completely.

In LaserGRBL it is assumed that the laser used can be controlled not only in the X and Y directions but also in the Z direction (the height). Because the Ortur Laser Master series Laser cutters do not have Z-axis operation, the software jumps into an error routine when the Ortur controller does not recognize the command. As a result, the laser stops working and the cutting job is aborted.

However, it is very simple to stop this error. You can go to the settings in the LaserGRBL settings and switch off the Z-1 function in the G Code tab under Multiple Passes. You do this by removing the line and clicking save.

After this, you will see that Multiple Passes just works.

The question I get the most is the ...question whether the Ortur laser I have (the 15 Watt version) is really suitable for cutting wood.

As I show in this video, this laser is definitely capable of cutting wood, and it does it very well. The model I cut here comes from Thingiverse and is actually nothing more than a drawing that is used by the LaserGRBL software as a source to create a G-code file. When that is done, the laser is controlled to actually cut the wood, everything is very easy.

As seen in the video, I use the laser at 60 percent of its power (actual output about 3 Watts of laser light) at a speed of 700mm per minute. The laser then needs 6 to 7 passes to cut the wood properly, without skipping small pieces.

The Ortur Master 2 is therefore the big brother, with a worktop measuring 40 by 45 centimeters. The tested machine has a laser of 4.5 Watt actual output, but is called the 15 Watt version on the website. This is because the power of diode lasers is always stated in the power consumption of the whole device, and not in the actual power that the laser uses for engraving or cutting.

In this review I also use the lightburn software. This is not the free software that you get with the laser, but if you want to see that software you can watch one of my earlier videos about the Ortur Master lasers, which use exactly the same software. I use the much more professional lightburn software here, because it allows much more, but this software is not free. You can find more info about lightburn on this website:

In short, the Master 2 is exactly the same as the normal Ortur Master I discussed earlier, only in a larger frame. However, this larger frame makes a lot of difference, because the protruding arm of the small Master can hang at an angle, which means that the distance between the laser and the object can vary during engraving. This is impossible with the Master 2, which gives it a much more consistent result.

This video was going to be all about the Ortur Y axis rotary roller, but when filming, I ended up having a strange problem with my Ortur Laser MAster 15Watt.

To ...connect the Y axis roller, I had to unplug the Y axis cable from it's stepper motor. I connected it to the Y axis roller stepper motor, and then I could not connect to the machine anymore with my computer. I disconnected the cable again from the roller, and connected it back to the Y axis stepper motor, and then a strange thing happened.

All of a sudden, the Y axis motor changed it's direction, while I am 100% sure I did not change the rotation of the plug (that is impossible). Now the Ortur Master laser engraver homes in the wrong direction, never reaching the home switch, and I can't get it back to it's original state.

I just don't know how this could have happened. I know a way to solve this, by changing the rotation of the cable, but then I have to get the four wires out of the plug and re-wire the connector.

Can anyone tell me how this could have happened? I really don't get it. The machine worked fine for months, and now it doesn't work anymore.

I am so curious to know what could have changed this setting???

When installing the Y axis rotary roller it went a little wrong last time, and then the Y axis stepper motor controller broke. The cause is still not clear, but ...the fault was quickly found, the DIR pin of the stepper driver always remained high, so it only allowed the stepper motor to move one way.

The nice people from Ortur seem to have a perfect service, because after explaining what happened, I immediately got a new motherboard from them so that I could repair my laser engraver.

So today the repair, and next time we will really look at the Y axis rotary roller

From Gearbest I got the Ortur Y axis Rotary roller, a machine that replaces the Y axis ...from the Ortur lasers for a rotating bench, on which round objects can be placed, so that you can easily engrave them with the laser.

The Y axis rotary roller is adjustable in size and can rotate not only small, but also fairly large round objects. You do have to somehow ensure that the Ortur Master laser (type II is also allowed) can still come above it, because it has to do its work from above.

To be clear, the Y AXIS ROLLER was given to me by GearBest and I get to keep it for my own use after the review. No money was paid for this review, and no opinion was imposed on me. What I think of this roller is my personal opinion and has not been influenced by GearBest.
